A How To Guide To Starting Sixth Form College

...Although to be honest, I don't know why I'm the best person to tell you this. I suppose you should know before hand I was quite an average student at college, I wasn't exactly a complete loser who never socialised, but I wasn't the coolest cat who was invited to every party and spent all my free periods in the smoker's cage, and my final results were basically really average. So, if you're planning on being the next prime minister or something, I dunno, maybe this isn't for you...

PS Sorry it's been ages but a) do many people even care and b) I've got bareeee reading to do for uni

I joined the cheer squad at college and it was GR8
1.) I know you'll have heard this about twenty four thousand times, but join a sports club or some sort of cool society. I don't say this because it will look good on your Personal Statement/CV (because it will I'm sure) but because it will make you interesting and people will want to DATE YOU. I mean come on people who are on a sports team or a society are 80% more likely to get laid. OK I made that up. But it makes sense to me??? That's probably quite accurate. People who have interests are just cooler alright.

2.) If you take English Lit - don't be that twat that's like 'oh I soooo didn't read the book omg lol I just read a plot summary on Wikipedia I don't even get what its about ahah lol I'm a fail' cos you will just be a bellend. People won't think you're sexy cos you didn't read the book, that's a lesson you must learn. People will think you're sexy when you're that person who can articulately discuss the main themes and underlying messages. THINK ABOUT IT. Would James Bond read the book? Would the girls from Charlies Angels read the book? I THINK THEY WOULD. SO READ THE BOOK U LIL SHITS.

3.) OK let's all be honest with each other here, you're going to want to skip lessons. Just don't let it become a big thing. Don't be that person that skips lessons all the time, cos then you get on a downward spiral and you're fucked cos you miss everything. I mean yeah, if you miss a few cos someone offered to buy you a McDonalds or you had a friend emergency or whatever and the lesson would have been pointless for you anyway I mean yeah that's groovy but like spread it out OK I mean don't miss them all in one month cos that's kinda shit for your studies and also looks really bait.

4.) Don't just stick to your friendship group from secondary school, branch out alright, get some new ideas circulating around you homie, nobody wants to sit in the same box am I right

5.) As I mentioned in my Tegan's Tips For Women, don't do anything that could be construed as harmful to another college student online. I mean yeah people will have stupid Facebook fights and I know it will seem like a great idea to make a parody video of something that two other people did to expose fighting in that way as something that is stupid, but actually you could get suspended for cyberbullying without even realising it. It's easy to feel like once you're at college everything is less strict and nobody's really keeping tabs on you BUT THEY ARE, THEY KNOW EVERYTHING OKAY... EVERYTHING. So be cool. And RESPECT yo peers, and yo'self

6.) Just TRY HARD OK and get GOOD RESULTS COS I MEAN YEAH PART OF COLLEGE IS TO HAVE FUN AND EXPERIMENT AND SOCIALISE BUT AT THE SAME TIME THE MAIN REASON IS TO GET GOOD GRADES SO THAT YOU CAN DO STUFF LIKE GO TO UNI OR WHATEVER SO DON'T LOSE SIGHT OF THAT WHEN IT MATTERS ALRIGHT

peace xo

ad - I saw a presentation from a girl who was teaching kids English in Indonesia, she said after her first lesson, the kids wouldn't let her leave the class before she promised she would come again.

I think the problem with most people is that they take education for granted or they only study to be 'cool'. There are thousands of possibilities what to study, why would anybody choose something they're not going to work for?!
